Kokua-3.8.3.38326 Test

Kokua-3.8.3.38326 Test is ready for download and testing. Normally, we don’t announce test viewer availability but, this viewer fixes Experience Profiles for SL users and handles the My Suitcase folder for OpenSim users. The My Suitcase patch was submitted to Kokua and other OpenSim viewer projects by Cinder Roxley. Since this Kokua Test viewer effects potentially more than just a few users I felt the blog announcement appropriate.

Works on OpenSUSE :) but has incorrect font with file upload/save dialog, just like 3.8.2.35975
    (Bugreport #360 http://tinyurl.com/oog5cq6)
    3.7.27.35441 shows correct font….

    Kokua runs without crashing on:
OS Version: Microsoft Windows 8.1 64-bit (Build 9600)

Please try to uninstall with Add/Remove programs and then run the Setup.exe again.

Thanks for reply, Nicky. I uninstalled and reinstalled and still no joy. Same error report.

    Talla,
    Sorry you are having problems.
Please open a ticket and attach files from \Users\\AppDate\Roaming\logs to the ticket.
Your will need to register as a sourceforge.net user to post a ticket.

Also, is this a Kokua only issue? Can you install and run the SecondLife viewer?

  7. Talla Adam

Hi Nicky, yes I have installed SL viewer, and Firestorm. I even still have the Teapot viewer installed and working.

    Thanks for filing Ticket 364

There seems to be an oddity with voice on Linux (tried the 64bit version): Neither Input nor Output show in the Pulseaudio streams list, yet input does seem to work – there’s at least green waves over my avis head when trying to use voice. Regular viewer sound also works fine and shows up in Pulseaudio playback streams as expected. System is Kubuntu 15.04 64bit.

Any hint on how I can help trace the problem? I’d have pasted the system specs but cut+paste still doesn’t work.

  10. NickyP

I have been waiting additional testing before calling copy/paste and image upload done.
This working good on debian testing and ubuntu 14.04

Also, there are updated readme files for voice and media setup.

  11. Jenni

Yep, with that build both copy+paste and voice work fine out of the box :)

Experience Tools also seem to work as intended.

Thank you for all your hard work. While I can’t use it daily (need RLV unfortunately) I’ll keep on testing :) The NT build seems to be quite stable and very, very fast btw.

Thanks for your testing and feedback. Here is first cut of rlv enabled Kokua.
    Kokua-RLV 1st cut

There has not been any RLV testing done other than switching to RLV mode and making sure a log on was possible and that it did not crash. I did walk around and teleported a few times.

    Please review: Testing Best Practices

I don’t use RLV so cannot give much support. If there is an issue, try to confirm it with the RLV viewer. If repeats in RLV file an issue on Marine’s issue tracker.

If it exists only on Kokua file a ticket.

I recommend using the beta grid (aditi) for testing until you have a warm fuzzy about using on agni with your main avatar.

  13. Jenni

Oki thanks. I’ll create a test script to run through the RLV functions and systematically verify basic functionality over the next few days. Thankfully RLV itself can easily be tested that way.
