Kokua-3.7.26-35224 Released

Release brings Kokua to Second Life version 3.7.25, a Maintenance Release cohort and to RLV version

Thanks to our users Karin Korpov, Dayturn, and Andre Verwijs for trying test viewers and reporting results.

If a test version is currently installed, the automatic update feature will not function. A separate download and install is needed.

Kokua does not use the RLV start-up restriction feature. This feature causes the viewer have a black screen for as much as a minute when first starting the viewer. If this feature is important to you, use the RLV viewer.

For a complete list of changes please see the change log. CHANGELOG.txt

Please refer to Release Notes for more detail about fixes and additions in this release.

A note for OpenSimulator users. Kokua-3.7.26 operates correctly on all OpenSim grids including OpenSim standalone installations. As such, the separate Kokua-OpenSim viewer is being discontinued.

Thank you :) works great on linusx and windows…

Thank you, and great work on the Mac version too ;-)

I’m trying Kokua 64 using Kubuntu 14.04, voice and sound effects seem to be working fine, however the music stream will not start. I do have gstreamer0.10 installed, and the stream works fine in the standard LL viewer.

Ensure that the gstreamer good, bad and ugly plugins are installed.
SL viewer uses FMOD Ex for audio streaming.
If that doesn’t correct the problem please open a ticket.

    Question about the Twitter button:

Is it possible to configure it for OpenSim? It looks like it is set up to connect to a shared service in SecondLife.

  6. NickyP

    Possible. Proberly.
It requires a registered api for each social media service be hard coded into the viewer. I think (not sure) there may be server component in that.
My impression is that it would be similar vivox voice service.

Small request: also fix facebook and twitter connections ???? to share my images….

You do darn good work, But I have some complaints that the viewer is not rendering the Var sims. seems to push them all to one small corner.

  10. Karin Korpov

Thank you and we testing with much of pleasure and try to help where possible.

SandBox Plaza III VAR on OSGrid snapshot.

Please file a detailed ticket if it is still an issue.

There has been more talk and drama lately about cross hairs and where people are looking. I have a question about “PrivetLookAtTarget”, what is “Show simulated look-at behavior to others”. What exactly do “others” see? What is the “simulation” doing?

  13. NickyP

This seems to come up every so often. To test it requires 2 avi. One on kokua and one on SL viewer. The SL viewer would be the observer with ShowLookAt and ShowPointAt active. On kokua rez a cube then place the mouse on the cube and right click. Normally, the selection beam between the avi and cube would be present. IIRC the selection beam is less visible. Then with kokua cam around and see if the show point at cross hairs are active.

I can’t remember all the nuances of these features. If someone wants to lay out a test case for these features I’ll be glad to put in a wiki.

NickyP you work and the whole team are the best. Little trick I found in Slackware 14.1 and ubuntu 14.04 0n both x86_64 and x 86 by removing these libraries libQtCore.so libQtCore.so.4.7.1 libQtGui.so.4.7 libQtNetwork.so.4 libQtOpenGL.so libQtOpenGL.so.4.7.1 libQtSvg.so.4.7 libQtXml.so.4
    libQtCore.so.4 libQtGui.so libQtGui.so.4.7.1 libQtNetwork.so.4.7 libQtOpenGL.so.4 libQtSvg.so libQtSvg.so.4.7.1 libQtXml.so.4.7
    libQtCore.so.4.7 libQtGui.so.4 libQtNetwork.so libQtNetwork.so.4.7.1 libQtOpenGL.so.4.7 libQtSvg.so.4 libQtXml.so libQtXml.so.4.7.1
from lib I was able to use all the media. all the TV’s all flash to mp4. hope this helps. seems only libQTWebkit is needed. And the viewer was able to find the system libraries.

Thanks for the information. I know there were changes to statically link WebKit libs but seems like I had build issues when I deleted them on linux.

Would like some of the non Debian based distros to give this a try and provide feedback at:
