A wee bit of a memory bloat issue under Windows 64bit. Kokua hit’s about 1.8gb and collapses nastily. This is the SL version .22 The OpenSim version does so as well but not as bad on OpenSim.

  2. NickyP

Does collapses nastily == crash? If so, there should be a crash report in with logs folder. The folder would look like a uuid number.

Bugs and data from the crash reports can be submitted to http://sourceforge.net/p/team-purple/kokua/tickets/?source=navbar

A sourceforge account is required to complete tickets.

Thanks for taking the time to comment.

Sorry, deleted my sourceforge, github & other accounts. Won’t be creating any new ones either.

As for nasty crash, not only did viewer hang for a bit, freezing system, it then just vanished and killed the desktop as well (2 occasions). It certainly is not my workstation, specs below (courtesy of Speccy).

BTW: C:\Users\USERNAME\AppData\Roaming\Kokua & C:\Users\USERNAME\AppData\Local\kokua contains BOTH OpenSim & SL versions data etc… These should be separated into Kokua-SL & Kokua-OS to isolate that data independently.

Are using Whitecore/Aurora Platform? Because, since last Friday there have been 1000+ downloads and yours is the only report of memory issues.

Once I review a comment on this blog and make the recommendation for a bug/ticket submission that is the end of my support attempts until a bug/ticket is visible.
Based on your comment that there will be no ticket submitted; I will not continue support with back and forth blog comments.

Please submit an bug/ticket and I will continue.

If privacy is the issue you can make a throw away email account and register it with sourceforge.

After receiving you comment I went on line to secondlife and Teleported to five regions and monitored memory. The peak usage ~1.0GB and after I teleport to another region the usage dropped to ~700MB. At start the usage was ~500MB so it appears in that case memory was being managed.

If you go back on line to the grid/region where this happened please make a copy of the About->Kokua page early on and include that in your bug report.

Hello. Just wanted to let you know I was about to delete my Second Life account because I couldn’t get their viewer to work with streaming audio on my Linux Mint 64 bit OS. My last ditch effort was to try Kokua and it works great! I sure would like to know how Second Life can’t create a 64 bit version of their viewer when you are able to with great quality. Thanks so much! One question…where can I donate to your project?

  6. NickyP

Thanks for taking time to comment. We don’t have anything set up for donations at this time. We are always needing testers to use the viewer and feedback positive and negative experiences. Specific and repeatable bugs can be reported to our ticket system at: https://sourceforge.net/p/team-purple/kokua/tickets

Love this viewer. I only have one issue. The media volume slider does not work. For media the volume level always remains the same no matter if you turn the slider all the way down. I have tried updating my audio drivers. It works in other viewers. The other volume controls work just fine master and audio volume sliders. This is great viewer, thanks for all your hard work!

Does this ticket fully describe the problem you are having?

  9. Dexter Wroth

Yes exactly, sorry I didn’t see that. I’ll check the ticket system in the future for any problems. Again thanks for all the hard work on this great viewer! I really enjoy using it and get great FPS.

This problem is also present on opensim git master.
It appears that on the working grids, 3RD Rock Grid, greatcanadiangrid, and jOpensimWorlds that a different inventory service is being used.

Please try to login to one of the above grids or secondlife and see if the problem is present.
Current windows Kokua-OpenSim viewer may be downloaded from here.

Current unreleased development of Kokua-OpenSim viewer may be downloaded from here.

Bottom line Kokua only works on a sub-set of OpenSim grids and Kokua-OpenSim should work on all OpenSim grids.

Also, if you logon to one of the grids that works on you can HG teleport to any OpenSim grid and it works.

    thank NickyP.

it seem i’m not the only one with this issue
    (I’m not going nuts!! :) )

I also added a issue here:

this is singularity-viewer but about the same problem..

  13. André Verwijs

other note: on Linux (OpenSuse 13.2) i’m using Nvidia driver v340.65 and this works great :)

lets see if this is the same for windows…
