OpenSim branch release Kokua-

Version numbering for the OpenSim branch is to use the last merged SL version and add a digit when newer features are cherry picked. This version is 3.7.8 the last merged SL version plus one(1). Current version number handling doesn’t make room for another decimal point delimiter. SL version 3.7.20 GPU bench marking has been cherry picked. This provides a short bench mark routine at start-up for Graphics Card selection thus, doing away the GPU Table file previously used for initial Graphics Card selection. On my older HP desktop with AMD graphics the bench mark forced a change in card used and that appeared to provide better FPS once logged in. On my super duper alienware laptop bench mark changed to a different card but selected a low graphics setting that I was able to move to a higher setting in preferences. This higher setting persisted after a re log. After this release finalized I noticed a crash bug report on SL jira and some attempts to resolve same with bug fixes. Those affected by these crashes may wish to rollback and install Kokua-OpenSim-3.7.8. Once SL fixes the crashes weekly test builds will be updated with the fix.

Please refer to Release Notes for more detail of fixes and additions in this release.

The version Kokua 3.7.81 (33408) Nov 17 2014 07:27:07 (Kokua OpenSim Release) is for use on opensimulator worlds/grids. You can log to secondlife but, it has less features. For instance, the social networking interfaces to twitter, facebook and flickr are not in this viewer. Each social network requires an Application Programming Interface (api) in order to connect. This requires setup or registration by opensim grid operators to facilitate connection to those services.

I expect to have a linux versions soon that incorporate the bench marking feature and have the full features when on secondlife.

In the meantime, the link below is to the latest test version without bench marking.

    Thank you for replying,

    Ok, thank you!
I installed the 64 bit what you link here, the problem totally same, like opensim edition, but social buttons have, but dont working based on webkit problems (streaming etc. wokring fine)…
After this I testing the i686, no webkit alert, social buttons working fine LLv3 websearch working, just teleport impossible, say need log back before I teleport…
Streaming dont work, but I think for me have lib32 for gstreamer, firestorm working…
The wiever top menu is red, and the letters on webpages is beautiful medieval gothic letters like in Guttenberg Bible :)

I mean in v3 search teleport, all other teleport function if fine and fast without problem

This update has been a very good one. Actually, of all the viewers I have tested with recent builds, this gives the highest frame rates even in areas with a large number of high poly meshes. Often 70% higher frame rates, but at times 200% better. This is on OS X.

Very Nice! Thanks for the work you put in doing this.

  10. NickyP

Glad it working good for you. Thanks for taking time to reply.
