Kokua Test 3.7.10

There will not be a release version this month. The test versions are just not ready for release due to AISv3 merge.
First, AISv3 places Kokua ahead of RLVa and Kokua Test will not have RLVa until later. Second, there are issues with OpenSim grid configurations that are not handled handled correctly. SL grids, OSgrid, 3d Rock Grid, and jOpenSimWorld are not affected. Avination, InWorldz, Kitely, Metropolis Metaversum and several others have configurations that are triggering a Kokua main loop memory exception crash. From the grid operator point of view I understand that it will be considered a viewer issue and Kokua needs patched to handle whatever is thrown at it. If I knew what was being thrown, it would be fixed. It is not an OpenSim version problem as both good and crashed share OpenSim versions.

On to the positive. Kokua Test 3.7.10 seems solid and has SL features from:
3.7.7 Interesting Viewer
3.7.8 Maintenance Release
3.7.9 MemPlugs(memory leak fixes), Sunshinev2 and AISv3
3.7.10 Social (Facebook, Twitter, Flickr) for Kokua these are accessed under top menu “View” and tool box Icons are defaulted to the bottom of the left tool bar.

Kokua Test viewers are available in the Nightly files area on SourceForge.

I get the said crash on my standalone, but not on OSGrid. On the standalone it looks like the hang and subsequent crash starts immediately after the avatar has gotten the first texture update. The difference is that OSGrid has xbakes enabled whereas the standalone don’t. So there might be something there…

on (Linux Mint 17, ubunyu Trusty based) i can’t close Kokua Test 3.7.10
even with “killall kokua” as root it keeps running….

..also getting stuck at “connecting to region” with standalone. with older versions i can login with no problem…

I also get the stuck at connecting to region if the cache has not been cleared from a previous version. After clearing the cache it connects fine. This on OS X.

i hope all bugs get fixed, looks promising for stable release….

I know this is not the place to report bugs, but the latest build also crash on opensim standalone when xbakes is running (meaning the robust service is not running also as bakes depends on it)

I enabled the bakes URL in Opensim.ini to test what happened, and you can see that the crash happens simultaneously with the following server log entries. It probably means the code to handle (gracefully) missing server side avatar baking services are lacking or even not there?

    @Gavin Hird
Thanks for the report and your time testing this issue.
Issue for viewer crash on opensim grids.

I have found on the viewer end of this crash that when a texture upload is needed the viewer is being given a URI to port 9999 and cannot open a connection. The viewer tries 3 times and no more. I have yet to trace the code for the retry counter.

On osgrid it never enters this part of the code.

Is 9999 a valid port for uploading baked texture?

Please reply in the issue as I want to document the problem/correction in one place. Right now it is on kokua-dev message list, this blog, and some on irc chat rooms.
