Black screen at start — fix

There is a fix to correct this intermittent crash that mostly affected Linux 64 bit users and to a lesser degree Mac and Windows users. The symptom was a black screen that required killing the program from the operating system.

The fixed version, 31948, is in nightly builds so please review best practices for testing.

Nightly build downloads are here.

    Don’t most opensim grids have Diva or other web front end to add accounts? My standalone opensim is diva->robust->4 standard sized regions and one 1024×1024 varegion.

    Thanks for the comment.
    I could not tell which linux arch you are running 32bit or 64 bit.
    Also, I see you avi is a cloud on the Kokua image which indicates that maybe not all textures are completed downloaded into cache.
    Another factor is the state of Advanced Lighting Module in Kokua graphics which affects water.
    Imprudence and Kokua use different texture caches. So an immediate comparison between the two is not possible. Kokua would need to run until the caches are full
    in order to compare.

    @André
    An image using ubuntu 13.10 VBox virtual machine which has very low graphics capability.
    The wave movement is present.

    i’m not using virtual box. Running viewer within Mint 16 (Ubuntu Sausy) I have latest Nvidia driver so that shouldn’t be a problem…
